Reduced Numbers of Skiing Trips on Offer this Season Will Lead to Hardly Any Reductions

Skiers and snowboarders can expect to pay up to 15 % more for skiing trips this winter as chalet operators cut the amount of ski holidays on offer.

High season weeks will be particularly pricy but even at different dates there may be less large discounts on trips.

Luxury ski chalet operators report that with operators cropping beds by up to 18 percent holiday costs are unlikely to fall.

Inquiries are even now greater than the availability during half term which for the 2nd year fall on the one week for many the schools in Great Britain.

The increment in prices along with a slashing in the no. of skiing holidays follows what was a particularly good winter for snowboarders with deep snow across Europe.

With the collapse of the pound sterling against the US dollar obliterated margins of profit and left a lot of small providers with debt.

The future looks up for vacationers able to holiday in January and Mar, when prices will cost about 16 % on the average, in place of 20 per cent for high-season weeks.

Airways, hotels and lift companies recognize that they must offer operators discounts or special deals. Resourceful holidaymakers will purchase as many essential extras ” ie. lift passes and rental ” in pounds ahead of leaving on holiday.
